How to Enable Conditional Call Forwarding on AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile
Forward only unanswered calls to Lead Grid so missed callers get an instant text back.
· 4 min read
Conditional call forwarding sends calls to Lead Grid only when you don't answer (no answer, busy, or unreachable). You keep your existing number, calls still ring your phone first, and missed callers get an instant text back.
Before you start
Find your Lead Grid forwarding number in your dashboard under Settings → Phone. You'll use it in the codes below. Dial the codes from the phone whose calls you want to forward.
AT&T (mobile)
- Open your phone's dialer.
- Dial
**004*1+ your 10-digit Lead Grid number +#- Example:
**004*15125550142#
- Example:
- Press call. You should see or hear a confirmation.
To turn it off: dial ##004#
T-Mobile (mobile)
- Open your phone's dialer.
- Dial
**004*1+ your 10-digit Lead Grid number +# - Press call and wait for the confirmation message.
To turn it off: dial ##004#
Verizon (mobile)
- Open your phone's dialer.
- Dial
*71+ your 10-digit Lead Grid number- Example:
*715125550142
- Example:
- Press call. You'll hear a confirmation tone or message.
To turn it off: dial *73
Landlines and VoIP systems
Most business landline and VoIP providers (RingCentral, Google Voice, Ooma, Grasshopper, and others) set this up in their web portal. Look for "Forward when unanswered", "No-answer forwarding", or "Call handling rules", and enter your Lead Grid number.
Test it
- From a different phone, call your business number.
- Let it ring without answering.
- Within about 15 seconds, the test phone should receive your Lead Grid text-back.
Something not working?
Forwarding codes can vary by plan and device. If a code doesn't work, contact your carrier and ask to enable "conditional call forwarding" to your Lead Grid number, or reach out to our support team.
